Medical Science Liaison Benelux for Ophthalmic products. As a referent of the Scientific & Medical Information Department, the MSL’s mission in its therapeutic areas of expertise is to provide scientific and medical information in response to requests from healthcare professionals, and develop scientific partnerships to optimize patient management and develop clinical research.

Job content

Responsibilities:

Oversee the regional medical strategy and project management:

  • ·        Identify medical experts and institutional networks (healthcare decision-makers, public health bodies, etc.) in your area of expertise,
  • ·        Define the regional medical strategic issues related to the company’s strategy,
  • ·        Set up regional medical operations with the health professionals’ experts in your region,
  • ·        Implement programs to optimize patient care (care networks, information programs, observatories, etc.)

Manage scientific and medical information for health professionals in the regions:

  • ·        Share scientific and medical information tailored to the needs of experts and/or health professionals, through individual interviews or scientific meetings.

Handle scientific and medical projects:

  • ·        Develop, implement, and monitor regional medical plans (implementation of national medical plans)
  • ·        Identify and select scientific study projects proposed by clinicians in the region

Help coordinate surgeries in the regions:

  • ·        Participate in the implementation and monitoring of clinical studies carried out by the laboratory, under the responsibility of the Research & Development Department and Clinical Operations

 

Have an internal information and advisory role:

  • ·        Participate in training and skills development activities of the information network and promotion of medicinal products in its areas of expertise,
  • ·        Share information transversally, ensuring the reliability of information transcribed into reporting tools,
  • ·        Ensure competitive scientific and medical intelligence
  • -        Send case reports of adverse events to the pharmacovigilance service

Prerequisites:

  • Master or Phd in Science
  • Fluent English & Dutch & French
  • Listen, consider, and understand the needs of healthcare professionals; adapt your speech and attitude according to your interlocutors
  • Ability to develop scientific, technical, behavioral skills (including communication) daily
  • Ability to conduct scientific exchanges and facilitate scientific meetings (public speaking skills)
  • Network, Team Work
  • Mastering the methodology and statistical elements of clinical trials
  • Mastering your therapeutic field and your products to become the expert of proximity on the environment of the pathology and the product(s) he is responsible for
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive and relevant literature reviews, Critical reading of scientific papers
  • Computer skills (Office Pack including Power Point, Word, and Excel)
  • Mastering scientific English, reading complex texts, and participating in technical discourse with ease
